Is it paying off!

Hello,

For the last week I have been trying to live by the mantra of stop being opportunistic and be opportunity driven. I have been concentrating on my 3 websites, and I have to admit what a difference.

Instead of wasting time looking at all the other ways, tips & tricks that I could be making money on the internet, I am concentrating on the one method. This is really helping me I feel like I am not being pulled from place to place and worrying about other oppotunistic opportunities I should be doing. I feel like I am really concentrating on the right areas.

I am using to knowledge I have to drive my websites forward and it seems to be working

Hello,

This is now my new mantra, I have decided to stop chasing the quick fixes that seem to pop up all the time. I am just going to concentrate on the 3 of my sites at present, until I have done everything I can really do with them.

You might think well, why not just concentrate on one site, but I do find that a bit boring if I do the 3 there is at least some change.

Stop jumping around and concentrate on one part until it's right

Gone and purchased SEOBlog Builder I will post a review of it soon.

I do have quite a lot of sites with blogs, and it was becoming a bit of a pain keeping them updated with basically the same comments week after week. One thing I likes about this bit of sofware is the ability to use snippits to create your blog entries so they are unique.

Once I have deployed and tested I will post a review.

Another thing I have to write, don't worry its on my to do list, below all the other things I have promised.

Busy Busy

I have been to busy setting up new websites and with work, to really keep this blog up-to-date.

I am going to have to have a look at a lot of different areas with my websites, I really want to ramp these up but it is getting the time. I am going to have a look at some options.

I am glad I spent a small amount of time doing a business plan for all my sites, I would highly recommend it. If you want to make a living on line you have to treat it like a business.

Another New Site about Solar Panels

Just created another new site along the same line as my solar power site, but focusing in more on Solar Panels.

This has been created using contentcreatorpro which I have had for a while but just needed the time to play about with, as you can see I have to spend a bit more time on the formating. I ask you who choosing pink as the default background colour, think I will have to put in an enhancement request.

An update of how's it going

Hello,

Just realised I haven't updated this in over a week. Anyway been spending most of my time submitting and writting articles. I have also created a new site on Solar Panels, which still needs some work done to it.

One item I have done is create a business plan/goal for each of my websites. What I have noticed you can easly get distracted on what your actual goals are, and start worrying about the small stuff. Havin a plan for each website means that even if I only have half an hour spare I can still achieve a step towards my goals for the websites.

Autoresponders

Hello,

Gave up on the free autoresponder script, seemed to be to much hassle, and never seemed to work OK.

To this end I have signed up with aweber, and setup all the autoresponder mail messages for my gardening tips website. All in all very easy to do, and I already have people signed up to my emails ;-). I''l keep it going for a couple of months and see if the return is OK

I'll right a small review on aweber soon. I have a lot of writing to do!!!!

I am currently starting to right an article on Yoga Mats that I will post on yoga supplies, when I get the chance.

Other than that the usual time is being spend on creating more articles and then trying to get the time to distribute them which is a long lonely task :-)

Still working on getting my autoresponder to work correctly for my gardening tips site. I can add messages and they get delivered OK, but if I add more than 3 messages it displays the 3rd message as the one to be delivered on each day. The real messages are still saved OK. Will have to have a bit of a hack around as it seems to be a bit of a bug.

The joy of free software!

The rss feeds seem to be working well, one thing I have noticed is the page load time has increased and the script contacts the server to get the feed. Feed for all do have a rss caching module, which you get if you purchase there feedforall software, which is about $40. Might be worth the investment.

I have noticed a sharp rise in vistors since addinging the RSS Feed to my site, which is all good news. As I think I have said I am going to create a RSS Feed for my gardening site, which the feedforall software can do for me.

Other than that just been adding more content to my sites, which is good, really have to sit down and distribute more articles though. When will I get the time :-)

I have also updated my tennis web site with a new tennis tips about the half volley.

This shot requires more perfect timing, eyesight, and racquet work than any other, since its margin of safety is smallest and its manifold chances of mishaps numberless. So have a read and let me know what you think, you will find a whole host of other tennis tips on the site.

Right got the RSS feeds working, on all my sites. Yahoo!!! Took a bit longer than I hoped and still need a bit of tweaking but looks good so far.

Not really that hard and using the rss2html free script, but just a few things that if you don't know you might feel like your banging your head of a brick wall for a while.

I'll write the quick and easy way of doing it soon, and best of all its for free!!

So next step is to get as much content as I can on the sites, I have a lot of content for the yoga supplies, tennis supplies and gardening tips websites allready to go. Might take a while but it is better to use your own articles.

Have got up my new website up and running on gardening tips. Creating the website is the easy bit, now comes the hard work of creating and distributing articles, link partners etc etc.

The new thing I am going to be trying out on this site is hosting my own blog using Wordpress. I have it installed and a post up, and will have to gradually add posts to it. It was a very easy install, the part I am having trouble with it getting it to look good, I am just running the basic template right now.

There are alot of plugins available, and I have installed the adsense one, that allows be to put Adsense Ads in my Blogs by just entering a html tag.

I am also going to be putting in some RSS feeds on a couple of the pages, so the content looks like it is changing. I think I have found a free PHP script to do this easily. I will let you know once I have installed and configured it

For now I seem to have a lot of work to do!!!

Have spent the last couple of days getting my yoga-supplies website moved over to my new template.

I am also in the process of creating a new website. This will be hosting its own blog, using Wordpress, which was a breeze to install. I am also looking into how to do my own autoresponding.

What I have found is that companies might charge you $20/ month, to host your autoresponder. Or you can buy a script that you install on your server for anything from $50. Since I am an IT geek I have managed to find the scripts that are open GPL Licenses so Free in the first place.

I am going to have to spend sometime checking how these work, not that they are hard to setup, just need to check they do exactly what I need. I let you know in once I do.

Finally got my solar power website up to date. It is a rather tedious task, luckily I have used Server Side Includes since starting doing the sites. This can make the tasks of creating the new site much easier , and easier to manage in the long run.

I also have to start writing more articles for my websites in general, and get them out there. Not easy when your also doing a new business start up, buying a house, and trying to study, all good though.

Next major step in to redesign the Yoga site and really start adding the content to it, which is all waiting in the wings. Thought it would be better to wait till the site is updated before adding to it.

For the last couple of months I have really neglected keeping my websites up to date. This has mainly been down to starting up a new company in the UK specialising around email security, compliance and mobility.

My website http://www.tennis-supply.com continued to grow, and I plan to start adding more content soon. I have allready redesigned it from the ground up, and think it is a lot better than before.

I have also noticed that with no effort on my part http://www.vacuum-cleaners-2u.com, is getting a lot of hits from searchers on MSN, so I thought since it was the smallest I would redesign it and hopefully should start bringing in more money.

I am planning to start doing the same for my solar power website and yoga website. Once I can get some free time ;-D

I have started a couple of new websites, in an attempt to stop the daily 9-5. They are basically affiliate marketing websites. The two main one's I am currently working on are

My main effort are trying to write keyword related articles for the sites, getting back links and submitting articles. This can be a long labourous task, but with the success off other websites it is worth it.
Some other sites I currently run are

At present I am not adding much to these, but at least try and and a little bit each week.
